The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, are currently underway. The games began on February 9 and will run until February 25. With over 2,900 athletes from 92 countries competing in 15 different sports, there is sure to be something for everyone to watch. The Paralympics are an international multi-sport event where athletes with a disability compete. This includes athletes with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and sensory disabilities. The Paralympics are held every four years, following the Olympic Games, and are run by the International Paralympic Committee.
FIFA World Cup
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018, after the country was awarded the hosting rights on 2 December 2010. This will be the first World Cup held in Eastern Europe, and the eleventh time that it has been held in Europe. At an estimated cost of over $14.2 billion, it will be the most expensive World Cup to date.
