Nashville Predators is a professional ice hockey team based in Nashville, Tennessee. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Predators began play as an expansion team in the 1998–99 season.

The city is the county seat of Davidson County and is located on the Cumberland River in the north-central part of the state.
